Kenyan rapper Majirani is back in home after months in Poland where he was working as a mjengo man (Construction worker).

The musician got a rousing welcome at the airport upon landing and granted the media an interview where he cried about his fate in Poland.

He compared his previous life in Kenya to that in Poland

"Life imekuwa crazy. sijakuwa poa. A lot of [people don't know my story, "

He opened up that in 2020, he was struggling financially being signed to a music label. He told that he didn't benefit from being signed to that label "apparently ni kama walikuwa wananitumia. Nilipatiwa contract fake nika sign"

Majirani did several musical projects  with his most notable song being 'Chebukati' featuring Sailors.

Unfortunately, the song was pulled down from YouTube.

This led to problems with the unnamed music label.

"Waliniacha kwa hotel nikiwa na unpaid bills and I really felt bad because waliniacha " Majirani was homeless and a friend hosted him for two weeks.

His tribulations did not end there.

"I always feel bad talking about that story and I was in a bedsitter. I used to work as a fundi before and got a job at a quarry "

He was mocked for working this kind of job yet he was a musician.

"sikuwa najua wananijua but they finally agreed to give me a job "

He used to earn 600bob. A video of him recorded by construction went viral online, and he was mocked.

He was not online to know he was being cyberbullied.

Brokenness and homelessness led him to call a friend living in Poland to find out if there were jobs in Poland. He borrowed sh200k to get documents and leave Kenya.

He got a job as a messenger but another opportunity as a construction worker arose and paid more money. He comforted himself and took the mjengo job.

Speaking to Vincent Mboya, a tearful Majirani said "I had made up my mind to do the job and life had got to a point where I didn't give a f* about what people will say coz even music was not helping me financially, "

He has now opened up about living abroad.

Sadly again he lost his mjengo job in Poland over the Ukraine crisis. He went to Saudi Arabia to do other jobs and one day in Doha, he recorded himself telling Kenyans about the same mjengo job in Doha.

Conditions in the country didn't work out for him and that's why he decided to pack and come back to Kenya.
