Man suspected to have murdered girlfriend in cold blood arrested

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the main suspect in the murder of one Naneu Muthoni in Lang’ata.

Thomas Mbugua Muthee, who is the main suspect in the murder of his girlfriend Naneu Muthoni was arrested in Malaba.

He is being held at Malaba police station before being transferred to Lang’ata police station in Nairobi.

He will be charged with murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code.

“The main suspect behind the brutal murder of one Naneu Muthoni, who was found murdered in her house on November 14, at Onyoka estate in Langata sub-county has been arrested.

“Malaba Police station before being transferred to Langata police station, where he will be charged with murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code and produced before the court to answer to his crimes, read an update from DCI.

An autopsy report conducted on the body of Naneu Muthoni, who was found murdered in the Lang'ata estate on Monday revealed that she died due to traumatic brain injury.

The report further revealed that she was beaten severally with a blunt object and a sharp object penetrated her head.

The autopsy report conducted by Chief Government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, multiple injuries on the body of Muthoni is consistent with an assault.

Earlier police reports indicated that the body of the 30-year-old had deep cuts on the forehead with blood oozing from the nose. The scene had blood splattered on the wall and on the floor with clear signs of a struggle.

The lady’s boyfriend Thomas Mbugua Muthee was named as the main suspect in the murder.

The parents were uncomfortable with the relationship after they learnt of time-to-time assaults by the suspect.
