This year a host of celebrities have made their status public, with some stating they do it to encourage their fans and followers to get the courage and be tested.

Tanzanian singer Ray C has ever shared her results online and been criticized for it. She took to her Instagram in 2019 to reveal she is negative.

Kiboko ya too much know know! #jijali #jithamini #selflove,” wrote Ray C.

Kiss Fm's Kamene Goro has also done the same in 2019.

shared a picture of her result, which she captioned with a “#JustKnow”.

After KOT were not too happy for her actions, with some questioning if she would go public had the screening results been different.

Kamene reacting to criticism once again took to her social media noting the concern but adding that as a public figure, she is playing her role as an advocate.

I woke up today and saw some of the comments on my previous post with my HIV test and I’m like I am living in one of the most highly educated, ignorant societies in the whole world.

Guys we’re living in the era of HIV and aids and you’re there asking me if I would have posted it if it was positive. You want to go tell me take a confirmatory test.

We are well informed by the way and guys that is not the heart of the matter. The heart of the matter is getting tested. Know where you stand, not a negative or a positive result. Get tested, It’s about responsibility, you cannot be shallow minded,” said Kamene.
