2022 has been a wild year, I mean we didn't have a global pandemic but the twists and dramas the year has presented are unmatched.
This year has seen some of the big names in the entertainment world kiss iron bars as they got arrested for different charges.
We'll be looking at all the artists who've been arrested this year and the charges levelled against them.
1) D'banj

Nigerian singer Oladapo Oyebanji, popularly known as D'banj was arrested and detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, (ICPC) of Nigeria.
The 'Oliver Twist' hitmaker was detained after he turned himself in for questioning in a fraud-related court case.
It is alleged that the artist had avoided appearing for interrogation (over fraud allegations) for weeks by constantly stating that he was out of the country for concerts and shows.
2) Hakeem Lyon
Empire TV show star and rapper Bryshere Gray popularly known for his role as Hakeem Lyon was arrested for allegedly violating his probation.
Mr. Gray spent 10 days in prison back in May and was also slapped with a 3-year probation after pleading guilty to battery and aggravated assault against his wife.
The 28-year-old actor had been arrested for beating up and strangling his wife to the point of unconsciousness.
Grey was yet again arrested after an incident where a woman in Arizona reported to authorities that she had been romantically seeing the Empire actor, but she got scared after his behaviour started escalating and she was concerned for her safety.
That was the second time he's having domestic abuse claims raised against him, a clear violation of his probation..
Gray was arrested due to the fact that he failed to notify his probation officer about his recent run-ins with the police resulting to him being issued with a probation violation.
3) Blueface

American rapper Johnathan Jamall Porter popularly known as Blueface had his girlfriend, onlookers, and fans alike all shocked beyond words when he was roughly apprehended and arrested by plain-clothes policemen.
The "Thotiana" hit maker was taken down right outside an eatery in Vegas in what appears to have been an undercover operation.
Cops on the scene said they were executing an open warrant for the rapper's arrest.
According to his arrest warranty, the artist is wanted for a felony, attempted murder with the use of a deadly firearm or tear gas.
He's facing an additional charge of discharging a gun into a house, building, vehicle or craft.
4) Maxine Wahome

The top female safari rally driver spent 2 nights in prison for allegedly assaulting her late boyfriend Asad Khan.
Wahome who made history in June this year by becoming the first female to win the WRC3 at the age of 26 in an on-going case is being charged with grievous harm of Asad Khan.
5) Hushpuppi
Nigerian socialite and internet sensation, Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years in jail by the US Central District Court in California over fraud and money laundering.
Following this American rapper, actor, and businessman 50 Cent announced that would be making a TV series about the life of the notorious jailed Nigerian fraudster and Instagram influencer Hushpuppi.
6) Yung Thug and Gunna

Rapper Young Thug was arrested on the 10th of May in Atlanta on charges of participating in street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrup Organizations (RICO) act.
The 'city girls' rapper is being accused of giving permission to YSL memebers to murder YFN Lucci while he was in prison in Fulton county.
Although he was recently just released Gunna was also arrested after he turned himself, following Young Thug's arrest. He was also charged with RICO charges in Futon county.
7) ASAP Rocky

The rapper, 5 months ago had been arrested at LAX by Los Angeles Police Department who had been waiting for him soon as he landed on his way back from Barbados on his private jet with baby mama, Rihanna
He was however released shortly on a $550,000 cash bail ( roughly 65.7 million Kenyan Shillings) in connection a shooting that took place in Hollywood, where the ' Praise The Lord' hit maker was accused of opening fire and firing multiple shots at his former friend.
8) Mishi Dora

Former Nairobi Diaries actress, Mishi Dorah, was arrested for failing to clear an outstanding bill at a popular Nairobi night club.
She appeared before a Kibera court where she was charged with drinking and eating a meal amounting to Ksh. 150,000 under false pretences.
9) Harmonize

The Tanzanian star was arrested and detained arrested at Kileleshwa police station in Nairobi for questioning over complaints from a show at Captains Lounge that saw irate revellers attack him for performing for less than five minutes.
There were also reports that Harmonize was set to make a number of other club appearances but failed to honour the agreement and hence why he was arrested.
According a Kiss 100 source, the Bongo musician was forced to refund close to Sh 800,000 owed to club promoters from clubs he was expected to perform during his visit to Kenya.
Our source revealed, "The talks are ongoing and so far he had refunded two club promoters Ksh 300,000 and Ksh 450,000."
