Award-winning Comedian Eric Omondi has finally been released from police custody.

Speaking outside Milimani Law Courts after securing his freedom, Omondi vowed that he will not be intimidated by police harassment.

He promised that he is determined to fight for all Kenyans due to the high cost of living.

“When it comes to the matter of livelihood, we are all in this. This fight is worth fighting for and I want to say, as Eric Omondi if need be, it’s a fight that is worth dying for. If that is where it will end, I will thank my God.

“If my life will be the reason the voice of the voiceless was heard so be it. I am saying this because from now we are not stopping.

“I suspect that the President of this Nation doesn’t know what Kenyans are going through,” Omondi said.

The comedian has also promised to stage another protest next week.

He has called upon Kenyans to join the peaceful demonstrations with a list of their grievances as they match to State House.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has weighed in following the arrested and arraignment of Comedian Eric Omondi and 17 others.

Speaking at the first Azimio National Prayer meeting at Jevanjee Gardens Odinga asked the government to leave Omondi and his colleagues alone.

He argued that the group staged peaceful demonstrations and therefore there was no need for the arrest.

The former Prime Minister said police have a responsibility of escorting Kenyans who decide to take part in peaceful demonstrations.

“Kijana Eric Omondi na wenzake walifika kwa Bubnge kutetea haki ya wakenya.

Tunataka Bwana Ruto na watu yake wafundishwe eti peaceful demonstrations is legal.

Watu wetu wakifanya maandamano, polisi wawasindikize kuhakikisha wako na usalama. Hiyo ni serikali iliyostaarika lakini hawa, siku yao inakuja. Mkenya yeyote asitishwe,” Raila Odinga said.

On Wednesday, Omondi and others were arraigned in Court.

They denied the charge and were released on a Sh20,000 bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh10,000.

Omondi was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for leading protests among other charges. He is being represented by Lawyer Danstan Omari.
