A boy who stole the show during Azimio's campaigns in February 2022 is dead.

Jacob Nestor Kavai, 13, wowed Azimio allied politicians and supporters during a rally in Vihiga when he addressed the crowds.

Kavai passed away on Tuesday, March 21, after suffering from acute pneumonia.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the boy's uncle John Kavai, confirmed his death and said Nestor had been hospitalised for two months before he passed on.

"It is true he died at just 13 of pneumonia. We are mourning as a family and anyone can support us," he said.

"He has been sick for around two months, and he passed on while receiving medication in hospital."

During the 2022 spotlight, Kavai engaged with politicians including former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

He proclaimed that Azimio leader Raila Odinga was going to be the fifth President.

The boy said then that he was his family's breadwinner, asking for financial support.

Kavai's uncle, who was his guardian following his father's sickness, said the boy preached a lot and had the dream of being a pastor in the future.

Before his sickness, the boy is said to have preached and prayed for people around Chavakali, Mbale and Kisumu towns.

He did not attend school and whatever he got from the crowds who gathered around him, he took home to his father.

His uncle said he was against the boy's ventures, adding that anytime Kavai saw him while addressing the crowds, he would try to escape.

"My wishes were not to encourage him to beg. He loved preaching and would bring him what he got from well-wishers," the uncle said.

"He always spared the best for his grandmother and father."

The uncle has urged well-wishers to help raise money for the mortuary bill and transportation.
