Kenyan rapper Kristoff made a comeback into the Kenyan music industry after a two-year hiatus.

Kristoff who has been staying in the US teamed up with DJ Calvince aka Dark Fella for his comeback tune dubbed Bigman Party.

The song has so far accumulated over 30K views on YouTube within weeks of being uploaded on the streaming. The video to the song was shot by Jeff Adair Films and audio was produced by Skirmisher, Side B, and Ulopa Ngoma.

"With its infectious beats and catchy lyrics, 'Bigman Party' is the ultimate anthem for any celebration,".

The video to the tune was shot in the US and DJ Calvince is explaining the role he played in making the song a success.

Speaking in phone Interviews with Mpasho Dennis Milimo, DJ Calvince divulged that he was in charge of all the logistics for making the video – sourcing of models, cars, and even the cast involved in the video.

He was also in charge of footing all the bills related to the video shot and making sure the Director of the video is paid together with his people.

“Shooting a music video in the US is not a walk in the park. A lot goes on behind the scenes. For us to achieve the 3 minutes video a lot went on behind the scenes.

"I was in charge of making sure that all the models are available and on set.

"As an executive producer, I also had to make sure that we have the best cars around for our video shoot,”

Out of curiosity, I wanted to find out how much it will cost me or any other artiste when it comes to making a music video in the US.

“The making of a quality music video is quite expensive. Directors over here are expensive so let’s say if you have something like Sh900K to Sh1, 000, 000 you can have a quality video,” he says.

Apart from the collaboration with Kristoff, the Dark Fella is not a new name in the entertainment scene. He has established a base in the US - to be precise Dallas Texas, as an entrepreneurial entertainer.

DJ Calvince who was born Felix Calvince (real name) has been causing ripples in Dallas Texas as far as the entertainment industry is concerned.

The DJ has been rubbing shoulders with reputable names in the US, as he pushes Kenyan music on a global stage.

Some of the stars he has worked with include Nigerian superstar Davido, Burna Boy, rapper Khaligraph Jones, Wizkid, Singer Arrow Bwoy, and Jamaica’s Demarco, just to mention a few.

In September 2019, he was part of the DJs who headlined the Konshens concert in Kenya.

During our conversation, the DJ mentioned that he has also ventured into the luxury car rental business, in a mission to expand his streams of income.

He also disclosed that he owns a booking agency that organize and book shows for Kenyan artistes with US Visas.
