Lil Uzi Vert's new tongue tattoo sparks controversy

He dropped is first EP album in 2014 entitled "Purple Thoughtz Vol. 1"

Rapper Lil Uzi Vert has caused an uproar after getting an upside-down cross tattoo on his tongue. 

In the viral footage, a fan recorded lil Uzi Vert opening up and showing their tongue with an upside-down cross tattoo. He also had a head tattoo, which is hard to see in the video. The rapper already has 54 tattoos, and the two new ones are additions to them. 

Fans have gone on to Twitter to condemn his actions calling them "satanic". 

 

The controversy began after he debuted several new songs at Rolling Loud California. In his new song, 'For Me', he talks about converting his City Girl girlfriend JT to Satanism. "I make a City Girl believe in Satan, he rapped.

In an interview, Lil Uzi Vert refuted the claims of being involved in satanic worship saying the it was just a metaphor and should not be taken seriously, “Basically, I make a girl do whatever I say so."

He also stated that he has the right to free speech and that he can say whatever he wants in his songs.

 

"I just say what I want in my songs. It’s like my freedom of speech,” Lil Uzi Vert said. 

The award-winning rapper, dropped his first EP album in 2014 entitled "Purple Thoughtz Vol. 1", his signature cloud rap psychedelic sound was set from the start and with a strong lyrical focus it caught the attention of the aesthetically like-minded ASAP Mob.

Between 2014-2017 a string of various collaborations and hot productions with the likes of ASAP Ferg, Wiz Khalifa, Metro Boomin and Kodak Black initiated his climb up to mainstream stardom.

Things really took off when he collaborated with the rap group Migos in October 2016 on the single "Bad and Boujee" which in January 2017 reached number one  on the US Billboard and became a worldwide hit.
