Media personality Terryanne Chebet has penned a cute message to her daughter Imani as she turns 17.
In her message, Chebet celebrated her daughter as a Talented person who is loved by many.
"17 today!!! 🎂Happy Birthday my darling Imani. Talaa and I adore you!! You're our leading light and we love you so so much! I'm so proud of you.
Through your teenage years, our fights have been epic, but that's what makes our relationship special.
We've both grown but your growth has been incredible! You're special, You're talented, You're loved, and you're celebrated by so many!
Happy Birthday my Darling! She is the reason @keyarabotanics exists," she wrote.
In the past, Terryanne responded to a fan who questioned how she feels having daughters with different baby daddies.
She responded by saying she doesn't even recognize it.
“I never think about it until someone asks about it. We love each other deeply and I enjoy parenting so much I don’t realize it much.”
Terryanne Chebet’s child was born on October 26 – the day that she received her redundancy letter from her former employer the year before.
“When a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone. She arrived on the 26th of October. On that exact date last year, I received a letter informing me of my retrenchment. Is it just a coincidence? God does have an incredible sense of humor,“ she wrote in a past Instagram post.
She also talked about the challenges of raising a teenage daughter.
Terryanne Chebet said at some point she felt like her teenage daughter did not love her.
So serious was the issue that the mother of two involved the baby daddy to her then 11/12 year old.
Speaking about it during an interview on Radio Jambo, Terry Anne shared
‘When my daughter turned 11 years, I used to feel like she hated me. She was completely different.
I realized that I needed her dad more in her life than ever before. That is exactly what I did."
Terryanne added that she made her daughter comfortable with her dad’s family.
"She is turning 15 years this year and they are currently on good terms and very free with each other
I think the more people you have in life, godmother, aunts. girls need as many influencers around them as a teenager.
That is what exactly I did by involving his family side to feel she is in a family so she knows that if she lets me down, she lets everyone down.
Talking to her as much as possible and now she is very comfortable with me.
She is turning 15 years and it is not easy, as the mother you have to keep talking to her." She advised
