An elderly woman from Rwanda has shocked many after confessing that she is still a virgin at the age of 123-years.
In an interview with Afrimax, Theresie Nyirakajumba said that she has never seen the nakedness of a man. She also insists that she has never been touched intimately by a man.
She says she is still a virgin and still holding on hope of finding Mr. Right before she dies.
According to her narration, Theresie grew up in a household where it was taboo to talk to boys.
She paid close attention to the cultural teachings, and after she reached marriageable age, her family even started looking for potential husbands for her.
She claims that she never harbored feelings for any man and rather desired solitude.
“People often ask me about love and relationships and how I have managed to reach this age without a boyfriend or a lover. Well my story is a bit different.
“Yes, of course I’m still a virgin… I would think of it during my era but I could not take myself to a husband,” she said
Theresie Nyirakajumba claimed that her deep dislike of men, which has its roots in her upbringing, is what has prevented her from interacting with them.
She claimed that her advanced age made it difficult for her to attract men when she was finally ready to find love.
Theresie claims that she is open to love and that she is not given up on finding her, Mr. Right.
She says; “If a man shows up I’ll be willing to entertain the options,”.
She continues by saying that she won't give up until she meets a decent man who wants to spend time with her.
Theresie does not currently have a job and lives alone. She fears that her house will collapse soon because it is so old.
She claims that, on occasion, loneliness causes her to go days without eating and to struggle to survive.
