Sharon Barang'a cries as she quits her TV job

Media personality Sharon Barang'a has parted ways with TV47 after two years and a few months.

Ms Barang’a who joined the station in 2020 was treated to a lavish farewell party at a time she as signing off from the station.

The education reporter thanked her ex-employer for welcoming her when she was going through a tough time.

 

"My farewell party just went down. Today was my last day at tv47...I cried, I "crewed", it has been an emotional day leaving a company that received me warmly when I was going through a rough patch in my life. @tv47news became literally became family to me," she wrote

A Twitter user asked whether she was going to replace Willis Raburu at Royal Media Services.

 "Where are you heading to? Going to replace Willis Raburu RMS or?"  

 

To which she responded.

"Can I really fit into his shoes?"

Barang'a joined TV47 in October 2020 months after being sacked by Nation Media Group-owned station NTV.

Barang’a disclosed that she was going through a hard time after being sacked barely two weeks after losing her dad.

“I have lost my dad & job in one month...it is well. I am hanging in there. Thank you all for the calls, msgs & prayers,” reads Sharon Barang’a’s tweet.

The award-winning journalist reports on education, health, and children’s affairs.

In 2016, she won the ICFJ’s Early Childhood Development Reporting Contest and in 2017 she received the Mandela Washington Fellowship funded by the U.S. Department of State.
