On Wednesday night all roads to the Ihub for the private preview of the upcoming play Graveyard Queens set to stage on July 14, 15, and 16, 2023.
Graveyard Queens is a new play directed by talented actresses Nice Githinji and Nyokabi Macharia.
The play is made up of a legendary cast; Muthoni Gathecha (Tabitha), Carol ‘Coach’ Odongo (Ida), Mumbi Kaigwa (Doris), John Karathe (Sam), and Agnes Kola (Christabel).
The exclusive preview was graced by several celebrities among them Pascal Tokodi, Esther Kazungu, Ciru Muriuki, Charles Ouda, Queen Gathoni, Olivia Ambani, and Rueben Odanga among others.
Taking to social media, Nice Githinji thanked everyone who showed up for the preview.
“Last night we hosted some of the most incredible minds in this city at the @shortsfromafrica #graveyardqueenspreview at @ihub_nairobi. A conversation after the show revealed so much about ageism in society. Within and without our borders.
“This play is so timely within that context especially because mature people have been presented in such a vibrant way. They love. They dance. They feel the need to be seen, touched, and desired. #graveyardqueens will completely change your perception of growing older.....you'll cherish it and look forward to it. Thank you all so much to all of you who graced us with your company. Thank you for sharing your insights," Nice Githinji shared.
Advance tickets for the play that will be staged at Braeside School Muthangari are going for Sh2, 500 (Single) 2,500 (Single) 4,500 (Couple) 11,000 (Group of 5) and at the gate, it will be Sh3,000
At the same time, Nyokabi Macharia who is also the director of the play expressed her satisfaction with the reviews and comments that the play performance was accorded.
