Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party through Raila Odinga has announced that it will hold demonstrations on Wednesday, July 19.

Odinga said the demos will be held whether the government issues a permit or not.

"We will have countrywide protests next week on Wednesday whether the government likes it or not," Raila said.

Echoing him, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa said they were going to continue marching on.

"There is no looking back, there's no turning back. We will see you on Wednesday," he said.

He urged Kenyans to continue signing the petition against President William Ruto's administration on both digital and manual collection platforms.

The Coalition has also announced that they will take five days off to mourn the lives lost during Wednesday protests.

"We have made a decision to observe five days of mourning and solidarity with the victims and their families during which we will try our level best to mobilize support to help lessen the burden on the families of victims," Wamalwa said.

At least nine people were killed during the anti-government protests according to the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.

KNCHR said four people were killed in Mlolongo while Kitengela, Emali, Sondu and Migori reported one death each.
