Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja coalition has said the anti-government demonstrations will go on for three days next week.

In a statement, Azimio la Umoja said due to requests from all sectors, the peaceful protests will be held on Wednesday, Thursday nd Friday.

On Thursday, Raila said the demos will be held whether the government issues a permit or not.

"We will have countrywide protests next week on Wednesday whether the government likes it or not," Raila said.

Speaking at Kihumbuini Primary School in Westlands, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said they shall have five days of mourning.

"We will then resume demos on Wednesday for three consecutive days," Sifuna said.

He was speaking when they visited the school where pupils were teargassed on Wednesday during nationwide protests that crippled the country.

He was accompanied by area MP Tim Wanyonyi, Babu Owino (Embakasi East) and a host of area MCAs.

Wanyonyi and Owino condemned police brutality meted on innocent school-going children.

He told police to desist from targeting learning institutions during protests.
