He called me at around 11 pm and told me that he is at the airport, he had just landed and was being detained by the DCI and arrested.

“He told me that he will call me after that but he hasn’t because his phone went off after that and it has been off ever since. All I have been doing is searching for him and I started at the DCI headquarters and I was directed to go to the airport.

“I went there and he was not there, I went to Gigiri and Muthaiga, Kilimani, Embakasi police stations and he was not there. Finally, I was given information that he was in Wang’uru police station in Mwea,” Fridah said in part.

Mrs Ongili further stated that after travelling to Mwea she was denied persimmon to see or even give her husband food.

“They refused me entry and they carried me out of the gate as there was were many police officers present and I was able to ascertain that indeed my husband in Wang’ru police station in Mwea. We have information that he is likely going to be transferred now that we know where he is,” she added.

Fridah Muthoni appealed to ODM party leader Raila Odinga to help secure the release of her husband.

“This is my plea to the Azimio team and Raila Odinga, My husband has done nothing but fight for the rights of Kenyans and there is nothing wrong that he did to warrant the arrest," she said.
