The Azimio la Umoja coalition has announced three places where they will converge, ahead of final day of protests, this week.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in a statement said the meeting point in Nairobi will be Jevanjee Gardens in the Central Business District.

Other meetings within the city will be on Imara Daima grounds and Kamukunji grounds in Kibra.

They said the meetings will start at 10 am, Friday.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has described the first and second days of the protests as a success.

The three-day mass protests began on Wednesday, July 19, with Azimio calling upon Kenyans to march to the streets to show their displeasure with the government.

The Opposition has among others said the high cost of living, the auditing of the August 2022 presidential election, the end of political party poaching, and the reconstitution of IEBC, are just but some of the key issues that need to be relooked by President William Ruto's administration.

The Raila-led outfit has also called for repeal of the Finance Act, 2023, and do away with 'punitive taxes' taxes imposed on Kenyans.

Azimio also accused the government of slowly evolving into a dictatorship.

"We appeal to Kenyans to take very seriously the unfolding chain of events. A new dictatorship is slowly taking root. We call on Kenyans to put on their old armour of courage and work to take their country before this dictatorship takes firm roots."
