Multi award winning rapper, record producer and entrepreneur Shawn Corey Carter, popularly known as Jay Z has made history by earning 10 multi platinum albums!

Yes, you read that correctly.

The American rapper has just become the first black male recording artist to achieve ten multi-platinum solo albums.

He is also one of the only two black artists to achieve this, the first being legendary 'All I Want For Christmas' hitmaker Mariah Carey. Who not only was the first black artist to achieve such a feat but is also the first and only female star with 11 platinum solo albums.

News of Jay Z's achievements hit airwaves after Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) released its certifications and in them, ten of Jay-Z's solo albums had reached multi-platinum status.

An album going multi-platinum means huge sales! In layman's term it means an album has sold over two million copies making it a smash hit.

The news publication reported that he has 33.5 million album sales under his very expensive belt.

Coming in hot behind Jay Z's heels is veteran rapper Eminem aka Slim Shady with 8 multi-platinum albums.

This isn't the father of 3's first big record break. Back in June 2019, Jay-Z officially became the first hip hop billionaire, making him the fifth-wealthiest African American and the wealthiest American musician in the world.

And just this year him and his wife 'Who Run The World' hitmaker Beyonce Knowles Carter broke the record as the most nominated artists of all time at the Grammy Awards since the culture was began with 88 nominations both.
