Mavin Records signee Rema has announced that he will be taking a break from music to focus on his health. 

On November, 29,2023 the singer shocked many after announcing that all his December shows had been cancelled. 

He said; "Breaks my heart to say that I won't be performing Anywhere this December, been years of touring I've ignored my health and I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again love,".

Fans are sending out words of encouragement following the Calm Down hitmaker's message of taking a break.

Davido sent him some words of encouragement over his decision to step aside.

"The job ain't easy physically and mentally!! You've made Africa and the world proud. beyond expectations...get some rest King Rema come back stronger," captioned Davido.

Fans have sent him quick recovery messages as well.

Another musician who recently announced he was taking a break was Drake in October.

While hosting the Friday, Oct. 6, episode of his radio show, “Table For One," Drake revealed he plans to put a pause on his music.

"I probably won't make music for a little bit, I'm going to be honest," he said. "I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won't make music for a little bit."

Drake then revealed that he was also going to take some time to focus on his well-being.

"I'm going to be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost, and I'll talk about that soon enough," he said. "Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I've been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach."

"So, I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right. And I'm going to do that," he added.

Drake also offered his fans a time frame for his hiatus, saying he was going to "lock the door on the studio" for "maybe a year" or "a little longer" than that.

It was recently disclosed that Rema has garnered 1 Billion streams on Spotify as a songwriter and producer.

The collabo with Selena Gomez is the 8th most streamed song worldwide on Spotify in 2023.
