Former Kenya Rugby 7s player and self-taught chef Dennis Ombachi aka the Roaming Chef is trending at number one on X App formerly Twitter.

Ombachi became a topic of discussion on the social media platform after putting out a superb “Ugali Mayai and Cabbage recipe for “Njaanuary".

Ombachi who always shares his recipes online captured the attention of many with his cooking skills and how he made “Common cabbage” look appealing to many.

Towards the end of 2023, Ombachi promised Kenyans a “Cabbage and Ugali Mayai," recipe, and true to his word he delivered.

In his statement, Ombachi gave a quick summary of how he likes to prepare his cabbage and how the meal will be a perfect choice for those who can’t afford meat or they had enough during the festive season.

“Njaanuary and as promised here’s Cabbage & Ugali Mayai making its 1st of many appearances, cheap nutritious and will see you through after spending all your money in December or you just want a break from meaty dishes,” he said in part.

"I don’t use tomatoes on my cabbage just a personal preference but feel free to use them,".

Ombachi also mentioned that there are many ways to prepare eggs but he prefers to stick to the recipe his mother taught him.

“Also there are many ways to cook your eggs this is how my mum made them feed many mouths at once, if properly broken you can add water to your eggs to increase volume and feed a crowd 😂😂

“Let me know what other Njaanuary meals we should prepare this month,” Ombachi shared.

The Roaming Chef’s recipe inspired many to also cook ‘Cabbage and Ugali Mayai’ for Dinner.

Many who participated in the discussion tried to brag about how they can rival Ombachi when it comes to preparing cabbage and Ugali Mayai.
