Kenya Power has notified Kenyans in various parts of six select counties to brace for hours without electricity on Wednesday to allow for network maintenance.

In a notice Tuesday evening, the utility company said the scheduled power supply interruption will affect customers in parts of Nairobi, Makueni, Kajiado, Migori, Kiambu and Kilifi counties.

In Nairobi, power will be switched off from 9am to 5pm in Dandora phase 1-5, parts of Councilor Opondo Road, Gitari, Marigu and adjacent customers.

A similar fate will befall customers of the Kiboko Market of Makueni County as well as their counterparts in the Masimba market.

Residents around Utini, Matuu, Makutano, Yikivumbu, Vololo, Ngaaka and adjacent areas will also be without power between 9am and 5pm.

In Kajiado, the outage will affect Ilpolosat SGR and adjacent areas over the same timeline.

Customers in Migori County residing around Kehancha and Ntimaru will also be affected with power interruption scheduled for between 9 am and 4pm in areas like Kehancha Town, Migori Airstrip, Kefri, Nyanchabo, Masaba and Nyamamagagana.

Other areas to be affected lie around Kurutyange, Ikerege, Tarawiti, Koego, Nyametaburo, Karosi, St Kizito, Maeta, Kegonga, Igena, Nyabikongori, Kebarisia, Mosweto, Nyamutiro, Kebaroti, Makararangwe, Ntimaru and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu, residents around the whole of Kahawa Sukari and Wendani have been notified to brace for hours without power from 8am to 4pm.

Establishments to be affected are part of KU University, Clean Shelf Wendani, Magunas Wendani, Royal Homes, Playway Academy, Quickmart, Wendani Hospital, Zetech and Rainbow Hotel, Ruiru.

Others are Waki, Agape, Mijicare, part of Kihunguro, part of KU Mortuary, Unicity Mall, National Oil, Naivas and adjacent customers.

In Kilifi County, power will be out from 8 am to 5 pm around Kakanjuni, Ganze, Vitengeni, Longombaya, Sokoke, Matano Manne, Palakumi, Pentanguo, Mwapule, Dzikunze, Mnarani, Mavueni, New Life, Vipingo and Shauri Moyo.

Also on Kenya Power’s radar are customers around Kadzinuni, Chasimba, Jaribuni, Mwarakaya, Pwani Oil, Tiger Packaging, Flamboyant, Vipingo Industries and adjacent customers.
