Fred Omondi's memorial service

The late Fred Omondi's family has today thanked everyone who wholeheartedly extended a helping hand to them after Fred's death until the time he was laid to rest.

"On behalf of the entire Fred Omondi family, please accept our deepest thanks. You guided us with grace and dignity in providing Fred Omondi with a fitting tribute to a life well-lived. Your caring hands gave us great comfort during the most difficult days of our lives.

"Please extend our appreciation to the entire team of fans, friends, and the comedy industry for their support and kindness," the letter read. "Thank you for your compassion and kindness at such a difficult time. We felt very comforted with the support and respect you gave to the late Fred Omondi. God bless you all!"

Comedian Fred Omondi was laid to rest at his family's home in Sega, Siaya County, on Saturday, June 29th.

He died on June 15th, 2024, after a grisly road accident. His burial was attended by Azimio leader Raila Odinga, Siaya Governor James Orengo, National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, MP Jalang'o, MP Salasya, MP Babu Owino, among others.

The comedy industry was also well represented, with creatives showing up in large numbers.

Among those present were 2mbili, YY, Amberay, Ken Rapudo, Dufla, MC Jessy, Captain Otos, Jacky Vike, Sandra Dacha, Gabu (P-Unit), Prince Indah, Oga Obinna, among many others. Fred leaves behind a brother, Eric Omondi, and a sister, Irene Adhiambo. May his soul rest in peace.

Apart from Fred Omondi's family, Njambi Koikai's family also publicly thanked everyone for standing with them through the hard times when they lost Njambi. Here is what they had to say:

"We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your tremendous support during Njambi's send-off."

The family went on to remember Njambi, saying they would live to cherish the moments they created together.

"Njambi, it has been one month since you left us, and we miss you so much every single day. Your memory lives on through the stories we share, the places you cherished, your love for reggae music, and all the moments of our daily lives. We love you deeply always," a post read.
