During the Drive show, Mwalimu Rachel and Xclusive discussed the NaneNane protests that rocked Nairobi for the better part of the day on August 8, 2024.
The two kicked off the conversation with a reference to the IG of Police and President William Ruto who had Okayed the demos.
“The protests ate okay as long as they don’t turn violent or vandalism. Mbeere MP has re-introduced the Assembly and Demonstrations bill but there is something that is disturbing me because it talks about protesters wearing masks.
He says it should be banned and that is okay. But what about Police officers who came to the streets with masks?
Mwalimu echoed Xclusive’s sentiments saying all police officers who come to the streets in masks should also be banned.
“They should also remove their masks…,” Mwalimu said.
