Media personality Willis Raburu and his ex wife, Marya Prude lost their first born, Adana Raburu, early this year during birth.
The TV host revealed that not a day passes by without him thinking about their daughter.
Raburu was speaking on MC Jessy's Jessy Junction Youtube show.
“I DON’T THINK SOME PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT KIND OF A LOSS,” HE SAID. I DON’T THINK THERE IS ANY DAY THAT PASSES WITHOUT ME BECOMING AFFECTED BY LOSING MY DAUGHTER.”
One day, Raburu and his Royal media colleagues were scheduled for Corona mass testing at Nairobi Hospital, where baby Adana passed on.
He says he got emotional when he remembered where he was seated when he received the sad news.
“THERE IS A DAY WE WENT TO NAIROBI HOSPITAL AND THAT IS WHERE MY DAUGHTER DIED. I GOT EMOTIONAL REMEMBERING WHERE I WAS DURING THAT TIME. I BROKE DOWN.”
adding,
“IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO CRY EVEN WHEN YOU ARE ALONE AND HAVE PEOPLE WHO CAN GIVE YOU A SHOULDER TO LEAN ON WITHOUT JUDGING YOU. EVEN WHEN I DON’T POST ABOUT IT, I AM CONSTANLY THINKING ABOUT IT.”
What is shocking is that even when his family were shattered by their loss, some people said bad things about him.
This he says, revealed to him his real friends.
The man famed for his 'Wabebe' slogan also had a word of advice to those who are still grieving.
“BY ALL MEANS GET HELP. MORE SO, FOR MEN WE NEED TO GET HELP. I HAVE FRIENDS WHO LOST THEIR BABY SEVEN YEARS AGO BUT THEY STILL TELL ME THE GRIEF IS STILL THERE,” HE SAID.
