On Monday, motivational speaker and Pastor Robert Burale announced that he had tested positive for Coronavirus.
Through his Facebook page, Burale announced that had to wait for President Uhuru Kenyatta to give his speech before he could share the sad news.
The father of one, said he was really scared, but was relieved to learn that his daughter was okay and was not infected.
On Tuesday, while in hospital, Burale went live to on Instagram to urge Kenyans to stay safe and not take the disease for granted.
I BEG YOU DON’T GET TO A PLACE THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY OXYGEN. MY OXYGEN LEVELS ARE GETTING BETTER. GUYS PLEASE STAY SAFE GOD BLESS YOU. PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER. LET THIS BE A LESSON TO KENYANS WHO ARE JUST PLAYING AROUND AND MAKING FUN,’ a visibly weak Burale said.
He added,
IF YOU’RE NOT CAREFUL YOU’LL TAKE THESE THINGS TO YOUR OLD PARENTS AND YOU’LL PUT THEM AT RISK SO GUYS STAY SAFE. WACHA MIMI NIPAMBANE NA HALI YANGU BUT ONE DAY I WILL GIVE THE TESTIMONY. NIMESEMA YA KUTOSHA. MBARIKIWE.
The video left many Kenyans saddened by his situation and in return, showered him with love, messages of hope as well as praying for his quick recovery.
However, come Wednesday morning, Kenyans on Twitter were left divided by the video, with many suggesting he might have faked the whole thing for his own gains.
Others went to the point of calling him out for wearing glasses and a cap in an ICU, something they said can never be possible.
