Nadra is a girl group made up of Raych and Alexis. The singer song writer duo was first launched in 2017 as Linda and are known for their angelic voices and stirring performances that place the audience front and center.
Their life has been shaped and influenced by the rhythms and sounds of the vibrant capital city. Their interaction with different personalities during their youth has had a profound impact on their worldview; this is clearly reflected in their music.
In 2017, the girls made the transition from avid music listeners to singer songwriters. The continued guidance from mentors who are leaders in the music industry can be credited for their swift progress.
Within a year of their official debut, they were already playing at local events and guesting on various radio shows while releasing regular covers on YouTube. As their career and skills have continued to develop and grow, they have made use of multiple platforms to showcase their unique sound. Key among them, YouTube, where they released well written and performed Swahili covers to classics such as Baby Baby by Brandy, All night long by Mary J Blige (Mpaka che).
To date, the girls have performed twice at Koroga Festival alongside huge acts like Dbanj, Fally Ipupa, Eric Wainana, Dan Aceda, Kansoul and Nairobi Horns Project. They have also opened up for Award winning Hiphop artist Khaligraph Jones.
In 2017 the girls won Best soul group at Café Ngomma against acts like Kaskazini.
FROM LINDA TO NADRA
In 2018 the girls left Robert Waweru‘s outfit Linda Entertainment .The two parties fell out due to lack of transparency in finances, and the hard pressure environment that was fostered.
In 2019 The girls met Asha Mutuku of Asha’s entertainment and rebranded into Nadra a Swahili word meaning Rare and have been working together to date.
Their debut EP Love Teaser is 4 track gem produced by a cocktail of producers amongst them Ihaji who has produced for household names like Nadia Mukami, Otile Brown etc.
