As part of its mandate to promote local content and the creatives behind it, Kenya Film Commission has partnered with Beyond The Film Limited to celebrate women filmmakers.
This is through the second edition of Women in Film Awards (WIFA) scheduled for March 2021.
The inaugural edition took place in March 2020. WIFA aims at bringing women filmmakers together and providing a space where diversity of women voices, stories and creativity is recognised and celebrated.
It is anchored on celebrating the drive, spirit and diversity of the woman filmmaker. Through this partnership, the Commission is directly supporting the Government agenda of women inclusion in the various professional fields and promoting the importance and impact of the role women play in the film industry.
