Question: First of all congratulations on achieving 1m streams in just 3 months, how big of a feat is it for you?

Mercy Masika: I think for a Nigerian it wouldn't be a big deal...but in Kenya with our population that is something to be grateful for

Q: What was the inspiration behind 'zaidi' the album? Also you stated that you wrote the album while on quarantine.. How different was it for you and how long did it take you to complete the album?

M: Zaidi was a project I started on November last year and finished in April and every song there has meaning for me. There are 11 songs all done well songs.

Q: Speaking of quarantine, how has it affected your ministry given that you have to be out there meeting people and performing for your fans?

M: Of course everybody misses events.

But I think when there are challenges human beings always find a way to innovate other ways to go around challenges.

The best thing is that still God opens ways to reach people through music and this one was one of them through Boomplay

Q: Financially how has it affected you? What have been some of the challenges and what lessons have you learnt during this period

M: I have learnt panapo nia pana njia...I cant complain coz God has been faithful. At First when it happened is when it was a bit challenging because for artists income went down 80%.

Q: Also what are the projects that you are working on currently?

M: I have a passion for cooking and alot is lined up towards that. And more live PRODUCTIONS.

Videos of the songs will be coming out soon

Q: How have you been interacting with your fans and what would be your message during this tough period?

M: I get messages everyday on the challenges that everyone is going through. And I want everyone to know that the tough time you are going through will make you better.

The tests and trials only come to make us perfect and so don't allow this to break but learn from it
