Elgeyo Markwet senator, Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed that way before he landed a 'proper' job, his wife, Gladys used to support him financially.
Murkomen revealed the intimate details on Jalang'o TV.
Murkomen and Gladys met back in 2000 and the senator says back in the day, between them no one knew they would come this far.
He says his wife was the first one to get a proper job and Gladys used to support him by all means
“Alinisupport sana, actually, ‘alituma fare’ mara kadhaa (she even sent me fare several times). In fact, the first car we bough she contributed the large amount.” Murkomen said.
But how did the two meet?
"I am married to my Campus classmate. Gladys and I pursued law together at the University of Nairobi in the same class for four years.
We both proceeded to the University of Pretoria where I did my masters degree. She did human rights whereas I did trade and investment."
Their education journey did not end there.
Glady's then flew to Egypt for the second part of her masters degree and Murkomen went to USA and the two got married upon completing their studies.
20 years later, the couple are now blessed with four children.
During the show Jalang'o took Murkomen through a few pf his throwback photos.
He stumbled upon one where the mheshimiwa was with a female cousin whom he says, netizens claim to be his former girlfriend.
"That is my cousin Dinah. We share one grandfather but I see on social media people saying she is my former girlfriend." Said the former majority leader.
After the interview, Jalang’o offered to gift the legislator and his wife Gladys with a trip to their preffered destination.
Spoilt for choice, the senator said he would choose between going for a holiday to Diani or a trip to Masai Mara.
