Fast-rising Kenyan rapper Kuky has dropped her much anticipated song 'Mi Sijali.'

Speaking to this writer, the femcee said she delivers well that people have reffered her to as 'The Beat Slapper'

"When I get a beat, I'll make sure I'll give it my all. Delivery is Key."

She got the name Kuky, thanks to Jua Cali.

"The name Kuky was influenced by a certain song Jua Cali did back In the day. There is a verse he used to mention Mkuki and every time I heard the word Mkuki I would repeat it with the song, so my family members started calling me Mkuki then later It was shortened to Kuky."

Kuky is also a model and an entrepreneur whose career started in 2017.

"I grew up in a family of boys who love hiphop.  I'd take a verse from any of the famous rappers  and write it down and rap to myself and it became a habit until I started doing spoken word. I would write my own compositions and read it on Sunday to my high school mates, and I believe this was a stepping stone to something greater now here we are."

She has drawn great inspiration from Eve.

"She was one of my biggest influences, there are others even here locally Jua Cali, Nonini, Mejja from way back...these are people I grew up listening to"

Adding "Nyashinski too, I wish one day we hop on a track together. He's a dope artist, amazing work ethic."

So, how does she manage to fuse entrepreneurship with her music career?

"I have the spirit of a hustler. Since I was young I used to task myself where I would try out different small small ventures that would make me some pocket money, and I would like to run my own business some day, so kujituma nayo nimejituma for a long time now, whatever am doing right now is not mature yet. But yes its a balance, both of them come first."

She hopes to take the Kenyan music to the next level.
