The death of Former President Mwai Kibaki was announced on Friday by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kibaki was aged 90 years and was the only surviving former president.
Kenyan celebrities came out to pay their tributes and among them was actress Catherine 'Kate' Kamau.
"My favorite president has rested . Rest in peace sir." She wrote
In another post, she shared a video while presenting a poem to him and narrated how her career sky rocketed after that.
"On this day ,my career changed for the better , I was invited to the house on the hill . "Umemaliza shule ? " He asked . The opportunities that came there after were humbling.Thank you Mr president , you will be missed."
Kibaki served as the third president of the Republic of Kenya from 2002 to 2013.
He is survived by four children Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagi and tony Githinji.
