Aika of the famous Tanzanian group Navy Kenzo has revealed that she has been living with goiter for years unknowingly.
According to Clevelandclinic on Google, Goiter is a condition in which the thyroid gland grows larger. The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located in the neck, below the Adam's apple.
Speaking to her fans on Instagram, the singer said;
"I've been living with Goiter for many years without knowing. When people asked about my neck, I told them I was just fat. I thought I was really fat."
"Some fans would tell me that I will have goiter. My mum met me one day and just told me I have goiter. So I check it out."
Aika said she has been waiting to finish her album to do surgery and asked fans to wish her luck.
She later shared a message saying the operation had been successful.
"Thank you for your wishes, I'm out of surgery safe, praying for a great recovery. Thankful to God and for the doctors."
Aika and her husband Nahreel make the duo Navy kenzo known for hits like 'Kamatia Chini' 'Mwanamke Sio Bajaj' among others.
