Media personality and actress Violetta Ngina is honored to be working with Global Citizen as Kenya's host.
The program had announced that for its fourth year, the organization will be expanding for the first time into Kenya.
"Being a host and a youth really passionate about using my voice and impacting change, global citizen has been a project passionate in my heart," said Ngina
Adding "And now that I have an opportunity to be part of the project, I am more than happy to make the best out of it and make sure Kenyans are actively involved in this course. It's a good time for Africa now"
Global citizen is an advocacy organization dedicated to - end extreme poverty- protect the climate- fight for equity2022 marks a special year as global citizen turns 10.
It brings together celebrated artist on one stage for their annual festival. This year won't be any different as the festival will be happening on the 24th of September in Accra Ghana and New York. In Accra the stage will be serenaded by Usher, Gyakie, tems, H.E.R, Sarkodie, Stormzy and stonebwoy.
Following the success of global citizen festival in December 2018 where Jay Z and Beyonce performed, Beygood philanthropic initiative was launched in 2019 with the purpose of educating and empowering the youth.
This being their fourth year, they have expanded to Kenya for the first time and have picked 5 Kenyans who will go through a one year paid training under the foundation.
Beyonce's Beygood and US actor Tyler Perry aim to empower young Africans.
The five Kenyans selected include Arthur kamau, Charity kithaka, Kamuel Oure, Diana Cheronoa and Sheryl kambuni. This will be an opportunity for our youth to be part of life changing movement.
Launched in 2019, following the success of commitments made at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 in December 2018, the Fellowship is focused on Global Citizen’s vision of eliminating extreme poverty, providing young people with opportunities to gain experience working on social impact projects.
During the course of the year, the fellows learn how to use digital technology for social change, storytelling tactics that shift attitudes, and the process of building lasting professional relationships. The program also aims to foster an in-depth understanding of the role that innovation plays in an ever-changing digital world.
