Multi award winning superstar Davido has been trending in Africa this week after a long hiatus off social media following the loss of his son late last year.
Fans from across the world trooped to the social media platforms to share some of the most prolific moments of the star.
The Nigerian singer who performed at the world cup closing ceremony last year is gearing up to the release of his album next month.
In his true spirit of giving, Davido gifted 1 million naira to a tricycle driver in Nigeria who plastered the singer’s pictures all over his tricycle to show his love and admiration.
The video of the tricycle had gone viral after being shared by Tunde Ednut. Davido has always been involved with a lot of charity works including funding orphanages and also helping creatives achieve their dreams.
On his birthday in 2021, the singer asked his friends to send him money. Davido received 200 million from the donations and added a personal 50 million naira and gave the total of 250 million Nairo (Ksh 68,188,179) to the less priviledged.
"I requested a few days ago that my friends and colleagues send money in celebration of my birthday. The response and outcome exceeded my expectations, as I received about NGN 200,000,000.00 in less than two days," he said at the time
Adding "I have always been passionate about giving back and helping people. In view of this, I am delighted to announce that all the funds received, totaling NGN 200,000,000.00, will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria as well as the Paroche foundation. In addition, I will be making a personal donation of NGN 50,000,000.00, bringing the total amount to NGN 250,000,000.00"
Davido is set to drop his much anticipated album early next month.
