John Paul Obumneme Odonwodo aka Junior Pope, a Nollywood actor who died in April 10th 2024 was buried on Friday evening.
The celebrated actor died while receiving treatment as a result of drowning and was buried about a month and a half later.
His burial was attended by celebrities in the movie industry, family, friends and fans.
The funeral ceremony started off with a requim Mass at St Peter's Parish Ukehe before he was laid to rest in his hometown in Ukehe Igbo-etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.
On Sunday, his family will hold a thanksgiving mass.
Pope who died aged 43 was born in Bamenda, Cameroon, on May 7th, 1981 and later moved to Nigeria while he was still young. He made his acting debut in 2006
He and three others succumbed as a result of drowning at Anam River while returning from a film shoot via boat
Hours before the accident, he shared a video asking the captain to slow down as he is the only son and has kids who depend on him.
He was shooting a movie titled 'The Other Side Of Life'
He is survived by his wife Jeniffer Awele and three sons.
