USA-based South African comedian Trevor Noah has revealed that he has big plans ahead of him following his departure from The Daily Show in December.

However, it has emerged that the comedian reportedly surprised even his bosses at Comedy Central, who are said to have had no idea about his plan before his announcement.

He made his disposition on this matter clear after he appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday where he discussed his future, and also revealed why he decided to leave.

One of the things Trevor plans to get back on after his contract expires with Comedy Central is stand-up comedy; the genesis of what came to be a beautiful career for him.

After being with Comedy Central for 7 years, the show host finds himself at crossroads with his life interests.

"I think everybody has gone through a period of looking at their lives. Every single person, we were in our apartments for two years, the world changed," Noah told Fallon.

He went on saying:

"We experienced collective grief. I think if you don't look at your life, and think about what you'd like to do differently, then you haven't experienced what we've all experienced, and so I think this is a joyous thing," he finished

In his time on The Daily Show, Noah has risen to the top of the pile as the highest-earning late-night talk show host.

Along with other business endeavours, the television host has amassed a net worth of $100 million.

If Trevor Noah does indeed walk away from the show in December, he will be forfeiting anywhere between $32 million and $48 million from his voided contract.

A part of Trevor Noah’s career that he has not explored as much as his acting. The 38-year-old featured in a few movie roles in his native South Africa before relocating to New York for The Daily Show.

Will we see him in more movies over the next coming months? I guess we will have to wait and see.
