In a recent interview with Radio Jambo's Massawe Jappani, Kenya’s superstar sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala admitted that ladies as well as men have been hitting on him.

Africa's fastest man disclosed that being in a wonderful relationship with Laventa Amutavi hasn't stopped romantic admirers from appearing in his DM's. 

“People including men come to my DM wanting to have a relationship with me."

But the sprint king isn't only exceptional on track but in his commitment to his relationship and said that he wouldn't act on that interest due to his principles.

"But I have to be principled. They never knew me before fame, so tricky kidogo,” he added.

Laventa herself was also asked whether she felt the pressure of Omanyal's increased attention making him get another woman.

She said that that all depended on how willing a man wanted to protect his relationship.

The couple who have dated for 6 years and have a child together also spoke about when they had first met.

“We met in sports. We were both running and I had identified him. He made his presence known and he made it."

For his part, the African world record holder said that he noticed her first at the University games but that she played hard to get.

He eventually got her to play to his tune after chasing her from "June 2016 until December of that year.”

And why had she played hard to get with him? She said that she wasn't sure if he was a player or not and wanted to know how persistent Omanyala was.

The couple isn't married something that the athlete spoke about while also addressing the pressures they are facing to get more kids.

“Pressure to get more kids is coming but for now, I would want her to get to where she wants since she is also an athlete.

We just want to have one kid for now although our mums say they want more kids. They indirectly want us to get more kids.”
