Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi is currently in New York City, and he seems to be having one hell of a time there.

When he is not busy giving lectures to Ivy League students at Columbia University, then he is probably somewhere hanging out with Grammy-nominated artists, watching a quick game of NBA.

On his latest Instagram post, the Kenyan photojournalist put up a Reel of the events and the company he was around on Friday.

One of the more familiar faces we see in the video is the Grammy-nominated singer Aloe Blacc.

Aloe Blacc is well-known for his singles "I Need a Dollar", and "The Man", which topped the charts in the United Kingdom, and for writing and performing vocals on Avicii's "Wake Me Up", which topped the charts in 22 countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom.

The American songwriter was invited by the NBA to sing the National anthem at the New York Knicks season home opener at Madison Square Garden.

Boni was allowed to accompany the artist for his sound check and got to watch the New York Knicks thrash the Detroit Pistons.

"I accompanied him [Aloe Blacc] for the sound check and got to watch the game", he mentioned in the post's caption.

Among other cool acts that the activist got to hang out with include the renowned American film director Spike Lee, an avid New York Knicks supporter.

The American comedian and Daily Show writer Jon Stewart was also at the game, and the two shared a brief moment as seen in the video.

"I got a chance to hang out with Jon Stewart, watch Spike Lee passionately cheer New York Knicks", the caption read.
