Kitengela's Rixxos Lounge has spoken out about the recent video involving an employee and the club manager, arguing over unpaid salary.

The lounge now says the parties alleging to be aggrieved in the video had ceased being their employees for some time.

In a statement, the management said the employees had allegedly defrauded the club, prompting the filing of a report to the DCI on November 24.

It added that on December 1, the two, working as a waitress and a barman were arrested and later released on bond.

The lounge revealed that they later visited its premises and demanded payment at a time when their case was still active with the police.

"...the workers were asking for their monthly salary and that's where we made it clear that we could not pay them until the investigation is completed," the management said.

Regarding the losses, the management said they had followed through with their IT department and found that past M Pesa codes in their systems were used to settle current bills for customers.

It said it will not make any further comments due to the ongoing investigations.

In the video that circulated on Twitter on Wednesday, the manager is heard telling a lady he will not pay her.

"I'm not paying you. Kwani unadhani unaeza nipeleka mahali. There's nowhere you can take me. I talk to the President (William Ruto) directly," he said.

The man continued talking, saying if she were to decide to press charges against her, they would not stick.

The lady can be heard telling him to go on and hit her if he wants to.

He further tells her that she is of the same age as his son, adding that she should not disrespect him.
