If you have ever been through a break up you know how detrimental it is.

The feelings of sadness, anger, frustrations become completely overwhelming as you wonder if you are ever going to get out of it alive. 

But sometimes "All good things must come to an end" ~ Geoffrey Chaucer.

These are the celebrities whose break ups hit hard the most:

1. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber.

A couple that was shipped by almost every single person.

Did they experience problems? yes just as any couple would but their love had always proven to overcome all, until it did not.

Their public relationship was on and off for the six years they dated (2009-2015)

People could never really keep up with them as it would be claimed they have broken up and then get spotted together.

The irregularity of their relationship inspired the songs "Love Yourself" by Justin and "The heart wants what it wants" by Selena.

Their fans being used to the basic dynamics of their relationship expected them to get back together for Justin Bieber to only end up marrying the American model Hailey in 2018.

2. Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson.

A dream is what they were. 

They started dating in the year 2016 before Khloe professed her love for him and was ready to put a ring on it.

It was not long before Tristan was allegedly accused of cheating in 2018 while Khloe was nine months pregnant with their daughter True.

This caused a hurdle in their relationship as Khloe was still feeling hurt and angry seven months later.

In 2019 Thompson was again accused of cheating with her sister's best friend Jordyn Wood.

They were claimed to have been spotted together getting a little too comfortable with each other.  

In an hours time after the story broke Thompson tweeted "FAKE NEWS" on his socials before deleting it shortly afterwards.

During the Red Table Talk hosted by Jada Pinkett, Will Smith's wife, Jordyn admitted to hanging out briefly with Tristan and receiving a slight kiss from him but denied the cheating allegations. 

"I am not a home wrecker, I would never try to hurt someone's home, especially someone that I love and someone that I have seen. I never was trying to steal someone's man," Jordyn said.  

After the Table Talk show Khloe accused Jordyn of breaking up her relationship.

"Why are you lying? If you are going to try and save yourself by going public instead of calling me privately to apologize first, at least be honest about your story. You are the reason my family broke up," she voiced.

Khloe later on claimed that Tristan threatened to kill himself over the cheating scandal.

3. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard

These two met in "The Rum Diary" film set in 2009.

By early 2012 they were dating before getting engaged in 2014. They then had a private wedding in Los Angeles the following year.

What looked like a happy ever after turned to a disaster when Amber filed for a divorce and a restraining order in 2016 claiming that Depp had physically abused her during the relationship.

Depp denied the accusations and stated that Amber was trying to secure a financial resolution through the allegations.

Amber later on withdrew her request for a domestic violence retraining order and requested for $ 50,000 a month spousal support.

They both removed a statement saying that there was never any intent of emotional or physical harm.

The divorce was finalized in 2017.

The following year Amber wrote a column for The Washington Post stating that she was mistreated but kept Depp's name out of it.

On Depp hearing this he sued her for $ 50 million for defamation. 

A recording came out in 2020 where Amber was heard admitting to physically abuse Depp and refusing to make a promise that she would not do it again.

"I cannot promise you I will not get physical again. God sometimes I get so mad I lose it," she can be heard saying in the recording.

A libel trial began the same year and was ruled in Amber's favor. 

Depp was then denied the permission to appeal twice.

In 2022 their $ 100 million libel suit began with their lawyers and themselves taking the stand.

There were claims of Depp forcing Amber to give him oral sex, claims of teaching Amber's sister to snort cocaine with a tampon applicator, claims of Amber writing a letter to Depp of how she wants to rip him apart, devour him and savor the taste.

Finally the court found them both responsible of defaming each other.

Depp was awarded damages $ 15 million from Amber and Amber $ 2 million from Depp.

4. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

These love birds got married in 2014 and were blessed with four kids before Kim took a legal action in 2021.

She stated that Kanye does not live in the real world and she had even tried to put him through mental health treatment because of his unpredictable behavior.

She continued to say Kanye does what Kanye wants.

Kanye took it to his socials claiming that Kim was keeping him away from the kids early 2022 after making public pleas to get her back.

"He likes being in control and having that power," Kim said. 

They both took to their socials to out each other.

Kanye dissed her current boyfriend Pete Davidson in a song "My Life Was Never Eazy", Kim claimed to be the only care giver for their children, Kanye venting about not being invited to their daughter Chicago's 4th birthday party, Kim accusing him of doing drugs, Kanye refusing to let Kim be declared legally single.

It was a turmoil that caused emotional distress. 

5. Shakira and Gerard Pique  

After being together for 12 years and having two children the couple split mid 2022.

It was insinuated that Pique was cheating on Shakira with his current girlfriend Clara Chia while she was travelling with their kids.

Shakira made this judgement due to the fact that noticed her jam was disappearing and no one else consumed it but her.

She made a diss song "BZRP Music Session 53" criticizing Pique and his new girlfriend. 

They never really publicly disclosed what was the reason for the break up but in an interview done she stated how she is struggling dealing with the separation. 

All in all Shakira is set to release her new single with Karol G "TQG" on 24th February.
