American rapper Michael Dwayne Carter popularly known as Lil Wayne has just made it clear that he is the greatest rapper of all time and not even his best bud Jay Z comes close to him.
Hip-hop heads have been debating about the new all-time greatest rapper list that was released 2 weeks ago that has American rapper Jay-Z at number one.
The "6 Foot 7 Foot," rapper has been quiet since the release of the list but has now joined the chat and maintains he's the G.O.A.T.
Weezy made the claim during an appearance on Zane Lowe's Apple Music podcast show, where the topic of Billboard's 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time came up.
The list which was published on February 8th named Lil Wayne at number 7.
It is not clear which criteria Billboard used to come up with the list but it seems as though they're pegging Jay as the top dog because of his overall success.
A move Wayne begs to differ with.
The father of 4 says he is straight up, number 1, and even went ahead to dare survey-takers to ask the guys ranked higher than him how they feel about it.

In his view, he thinks they'd agree that the "Lollipop" hit-maker is greater than them.
Coincidentally, Twitter seems to agree with the 40 year old musical genius.
It appears many are agreeing with the notion that Wayne is, in fact, better than Jay-Z both in terms of rap skill and cultural impact, which really should be how these things are measured.
Fans arguing it out maintained that Weezy is still spitting fire in 2023 while they argue that Jay doesn't really rap like he used to at his peak.
When it comes to numbers the two are almost head to head. On Billboard's Hot 100, Weezy has 3 number 1 hits while Jay has 4 number 1's.
However, Wayne has 25 of his songs in the top 10 historically, whereas Jay only has 22 in the same category. So, on a song-for-song basis Weezy takes the lead.
According to the Billboard list which was released 2 weeks ago Kendrick Lamar follows at number 2 while Nas comes in at number 3.
Nicki Minaj is the only woman in the top ten while Drake is the youngest rapper in the top 50 at No. 8. These two are Lil Wayne's biggest protege.
