A man lost his life after being hit with a blunt object while trying to help separate a fighting couple.
Dan Ouma was intervening after his neighbour started flogging his wife.
Confirming the occurrence, West Kanyaluo chief Elius Ombim said a man from Seme Kaloo village was being flogged by his wife and children after disagreeing over a domestic issue.
This prompted their neighbours, including Ouma, to intervene, but he ended up paying the ultimate price.
He was hit in the head and rushed to Kadienge Hospital before being transferred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital in critical condition.
Unfortunately, he died at the facility while undergoing treatment. His body was moved to Homa Bay Mortuary.
