Azimio leader Raila Odinga has unveiled the seven members who will face the team from Kenya Kwanza for bi-partisan negotiations at parliament.

Among the leaders include

  • Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina
  • Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna
  • Kitui senator Enoch Wambua
  • Malindi MP Amina Mnyanzi.
  • Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo
  • Pokot South MP David PKosing
  • Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo

The team was picked during the Azimio la Umoja parliamentary group meeting in Machakos County.

This is after Raila accepted to an appeal from President William Ruto to call off the Azimio countrywide demonstrations.

The President said that he is willing to engage the opposition on a bi-partisan approach to find solutions.

The move was welcomed by both international and local leaders in the country citing statesmanship from both parties.

Ruto said he has always been ready to engage leaders including political and religious.

"Considering the matters raised on this particular subject, I suggest a bi-partisan engagement in Parliament on the reconstitution of the IEBC panel within the parameters of the law and the constitution," Ruto said.

Raila, has however, maintained they will have to go back to demos if Ruto fails to take them serious.

He said they are focused on the outcome of the truce and will not be swayed.

"We assure our people and Kenyans that our eyes are firmly on the ball, and reiterate that we shall go back to the people as the earliest sign of lack of seriousness by the other side," he said.
