Former Murang'a Governor Mwangi wa Iria has piled pressure on President William Ruto to open the IEBC server.

Speaking in Murang'a on Thursday, he stated that not opening the servers will lead to consequences.

"Tunataka wafungue server tuone ukweli  nani alishinda uchaguzi. Wasipofungua, hii Kenya tutagawana mara mbili," iria said.

This translates to: We want the servers opened to know the truth about who won the elections. If they don't open, We shall split Kenya into two.

Iria was speaking during the Azimio consultation meeting in Murang'a.

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has been clamoring for the server used by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in the presidential election to be opened and subjected to forensic analysis.

He claims he won the election with 8.1 million votes against President William Ruto's 6.9 million votes.

Raila says that his victory was snatched and given to Ruto.

He has even claimed that the Venezuelans who allegedly aided President William Ruto's electoral victory were back in the country.

Raila said a team of four people, whom he described as "mercenaries", have been detailed to tamper with the IEBC server to erase any evidence that he won the polls with 8.1 million.

On his side, President Ruto had said that if Raila has a problem with the IEBC servers, he should go look for them.

"I want to tell Raila to stop disturbing Kenyans. If you have a problem with a whistle-blower and the server go find it."

Senate Majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot termed opposition demand to open IEBC servers as idle talk.

He claimed that they have dealt with some characters long enough to know what they are insinuating by opening servers.

He said there was no law in place that can compel the government to open servers, saying such are blackmails that Kenya Kwanza will not give in to during bi-partisan talks.

“Azimio tells us if we don't open the servers, we'll go back to the streets, and many sad stories that we are used to, you know, because we have dealt with them long enough, same characters never change. This issue is completely bar talk,” Cheruyiot said.
