After almost a year after welcoming him, Rihanna and Asap Rocky's son's name has been made public! The little one's name has fans both excited and confused as it's reported the two artists named their baby boy after the iconic Wu-Tang Clan leader.
Nearly a year after his birth, the birth certificate of Rihanna's son has been released, revealing his name.
According to The Daily Mail, they obtained the birth certificate of the celebrity kid and, it reveals the award-winning artist named their son RZA Athelston Mayers.
Speculations hint that his first name is RZA in honor of producer and rapper RZA, the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan. His middle name Athelston is his tie with his celebrity dad, whose legal birth name is Rakim Athelston Mayers. Super cute if you ask me.
The 34-year-old Fenty Beauty founder gave birth to their son on 13 May back in 2022. The birth certificate also says Rihanna's kid was born at 10:58 AM at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
So, how do you pronounce RZA?
While you might think that the name is pronounced by reciting the letters R-Z-A, it’s actually pronounced “Rizza,” assuming Rihanna is using the same pronunciation as the famous rapper.

Looking back, it seems Rihanna telegraphed the baby's name back in April when she and A$AP took their baby boy out to dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, with RiRi wearing a Wu-Tang Clan top.
A$AP's got a musical connection to some of RZA's band mates back in 2015 he had a music collab with Wu-Tang's Raekwon on the song "Fly International Luxurious Art."
Don't know how the beauty mogul who is currently pregnant with their second child is going to handle news of this leak seeing how furious she was when photos of their son almost leaked online.
Speaking to British Vogue the Diamonds hit maker recounted the frenzy they were thrown into after someone obtained photos of their son.
"I just went straight into protective mode. Like there wasn’t even time for rage,” Rihanna told British Vogue. “As parents it just feels so icky, like a violation.”
The two came together to discuss how they wanted to handle photos of their son potentially being leaked to the press.“As we were speaking, we knew they were making calls and deals.”
Riri decided to get ahead of the threat and sent some photos from her phone to an unnamed blog. Then joined TikTok where she posted a now-viral video of her baby boy gurgling, smiling and playing with her phone.
“It’s the thing you never want to happen,” Rihanna said, as she reflected on the possibility that the world could see photos of her son without her permission.
As parents, Rihanna said she believes it’s within their right to introduce their child on their own terms.
“We get to decide as parents when and how we do that. End of story.” She said.
