Lesotho has been ranked the number one country in the world with highest suicide rate, a report by Our World in Data indicates. 

The Southern country topped the global list, with a suicide rate of 87.5 per 100,000 people. 

The survey was done in 183 countries. 

According to the UNAIDS, Lesotho has a high rate of violence that could be attributed the huge number. 

"One in three women and girls in the country were abused by an intimate partner in 2020," UNAIDS states. 

Guyana came in second with 40.9 percent, followed by Eswatini, who came third with 40.5 percent suicide deaths per 100,000 people. 

Kiribati was ranked position five with 30.6 percent, followed by Micronesia (country) 29.0 percent at sixth position.
