The Opposition senators staged a walkout from the Senate chambers ahead of a question and answer session with Trade CS Moses Kuria.
Kuria is among other Cabinet Secretaries who are expected to appear before the senators on Wednesday.
However, before the session, Azimio la Umoja Coalition Senators raised concerns over the CS's appearance in the chambers.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna had raised concern that CS Kuria would use the session to sanitize himself since he knows there is a censure motion against him.
However, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi ruled that the former Gatundu South MP could appear as the censure motion has not been officially tabled.
"We are anticipating debate contrary to Standing Order 99, therefore I allow CS Moses Kuria to proceed with answering the questions," he said.
