Kush Tracey before and after Bleaching her skin

Media Personality Kush Tracey has explained her struggle with 'Bleaching addiction'.

Bleaching addiction is the obsession of wanting to lighten your skin.

Through her socials Kush explained that she struggled with it in her early 20's.

"In my early-mid 20s I was as lost as they comešŸ¤£ yes that 2nd pic is still me,skin bleached, skinnier, looking like Iā€™m living my best life.

But the reality is I was broken, lost, confused & I definitely lacked an identityšŸ˜žI thought being light skin made me ā€œmore beautifulā€ but thatā€™s a lie from the pit of hellšŸš® (no offense to the natural light skins outchea yā€™all are as gorgeous queensā¤ļø)"

Kush explained that going by her socials many women are battling the same challenges she did.

"Why Iā€™m I sharing this today,so many women dm me asking how I stopped bleaching & got my natural color back.

The reality is I destroyed some parts of my skin then & itā€™s been a journey of patience & healing to get to where I unconditionally love my skin colour, embrace my unbalanced melanin all the dark parts & light parts equally & Iā€™m no longer ashamed of my story.

I never thought skin bleaching addiction was an actual thing until I did a lot of research."

Kush says the research helped her understand how the bleaching was harming her body  adding that she has learned to embrace who she is.

"Research helped me to understand why it was a struggle for me to just stop doing something that was actually causing harm to my body & could potentially have severe consequences in the long run (story for another dayšŸ¤—).

Anyway I had ā€œfriendsā€ who ā€œpreferredā€ me ā€œlighterā€ & thought thatā€™s when I was beautifulšŸ¤£ (well I dropped them tukisonga) but the more Iā€™ve worked on my mindset & thank God for the Bible Iā€™ve embraced the truth of who God says I am.

I donā€™t need to change my skin colour for nobody to validate me & put me in a ā€œbeauty categoryā€.

I canā€™t type everything here; but to all my gorgeous beautiful melanin queens,yā€™all are a dimešŸ˜"

In conclusion she added

"You donā€™t need to get a few shades light to look beautiful,yā€™all are beautiful just the way you are.ā›”ļø Find your true worth & identity in Jesus Christ."
