In a plot twist that even the blind could have seen coming, Keke Palmer, American child star turned multi-award-winning actress, has not only revealed that her baby daddy has been physically and mentally abusing her but also taken action against him!
Ever since he publicly wardrobe shamed her and doubled down on his comments just because she got serenaded by Usher we all knew the man was the capital city of red flags and now here we are!
Keke, who has just been granted temporary full custody of her 8-month-old son that she shares with fitness instructor Darius Jackson in court documents stated that Jackson had been "unhinged, volatile and dangerous to both me and our son,"
Palmer, who dazzled audiences with her talent, seems to have found herself in a real-life drama that's straight out of a mediocre soap opera.
In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Palmer swiftly appealed for a restraining order, and guess what? She got it! Doesn't it feel almost like men are given a handbook on waiting until they've landed their dream girl before unveiling their true colours.
The fitness instructor, now has to stay a whopping 100 yards away from Palmer and their son.
In the documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, November 9, 2023, the actress and singer stated that there had been numerous accounts of physical violence by her son's father.
Alongside the documents, Palmer submitted stills from the CCTV footage in her home, showing Jackson assaulting her.
"He trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me – lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police," Keke's statement reads in part.
The court also demanded that Jackson hand over his guns and firearms to the police within the next 124 hours, which will be stored until their case is closed.
What's truly remarkable is that Jackson currently has no visitation rights. The legal system decided to enforce the ultimate timeout for someone who apparently didn't get the memo that being in a relationship requires a basic understanding of 'respect' and decency.'
A court hearing has been scheduled for December to determine the permanent custody arrangements for their son, Leo.
Here's to Keke Palmer, the queen who reigns supreme not only on the screen but also in the courtroom. As for Darius Jackson, perhaps he should consider taking up a new career in self-reflection and personal growth.
It's never too late for a plot twist of redemption, but for now, the stage belongs to Keke, and she's taking a well-deserved bow
