Globally celebrated EDM DJ and producer David Guetta is super convinced that fast rising Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr is in line to being the next Rihanna.

David Guetta, who recently collaborated with Ayra Starr and American rapper Lil Durk on his latest project, a hit single dubbed ‘Big Fu,’ couldn't stop gushing over the 21 year old.

In an exclusive interview with Cool FM, David Guetta couldn't contain his excitement about working with Ayra Starr. Describing her as a talented popstar, he went on to express his belief that she possesses the qualities to follow in the footsteps of American iconic singer and song writer Rihanna Fenty  Robyn.

High praise indeed, especially coming from a maestro of the EDM scene.

When people speak about Ayra Starr in the [music] industry, a lot of us see her as the new Rihanna. Because she comes with her vibe that is very specific because of where she’s coming from. But she has the potential of crossing over into different cultures,"  David candidly said.

I’m French. I was in Paris, and everyone was talking about her. I was shocked like, ‘This is amazing. An African artiste that’s killing it in Europe, killing it in the U.S, it’s not everyday. Last time I saw it was working with Akon.’

On how their collaboration came to be the 'I'm Good (blue)' crooner went on to reveal it was all fate.

During an interview with OAP Kemi Smallz, the French DJ reminisced about the genesis of their collaboration.

It all began in the city of angels... Los Angeles, during one of Guetta's annual recording camps. Fate brought the two together, and the EDM giant found himself captivated by Ayra Starr's musical prowess.
