Nigerian recording and performing artist Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe popularly known as Ayra Starr has revealed that she lacks a lot of fancy designer items because of her Nigerian mom.
Ayra, whose net worth is in the millions revealed that her mother in a way manages her finances and would chew her ears off if she spent thousands of dollars on a bag.
She also noted that her mom is so involved in her life calling her managers and team always inquiring where she is and if she has gotten home.
"To be honest I don't really care too much about cars and all of that. But there's this bag I want. it's not as if I can't afford it, it's just that if I try to buy it ohh my mom!
I need my mom to get to the point where she doesn't care what I spend my money on. But if I try it now she's just going to be like you spend this much on a bag? On a bag? She's very much a Nigerian mum," Ayra said during an interview on the Beat 99.9FM emphasizing that although she is a celebrity her mom is a typical African mom.

Answering the question on what she can and can't do even if technically she is supposed to be able to do them, the artist noted the list was endless as her mom was like a hawk always watching her.
"My mom still calls me even at 2:00 a.m, I have a show she'd call me and be like 'You're still there? You haven't left?'
And I'd be like 'Mummy I have a show. They paid me to be here,' then she'd tell me 'Just make sure you go home and be careful. She calls everybody from my managers to the whole team and she will be like, 'has she eaten? has she gotten home?' and all that," the 21 year old 'Rush' hitmaker animatedly said in between giggles.
Finishing up, Ayra noted that she hopes this is the year her mom loosens her reigns on her life and stops being so overprotective. She also revealed that she had an album coming out which she was excited for the world to listen to.
